The restaurant at Castle Cottage is recommended in the major food guides – a continuous entry for the last 25 years!. We have steadily built up a reputation for good food, both locally and with visitors to the area. We source and use as much local / Welsh produce as possible and strive to create a dining experience that combines top quality local food and service with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere without being pompous or stuffy. We are the Mid Wales and overall winner for Wales of The True Taste Eating out Award for 2008/09, National Restaurant Awards 2011 Top 100 Restaurants, Cheshire Life Dining Award of Highly Commended 2016 and we have again earned a Visit Wales Gold Award for 2016.

During the past twenty seven years, Castle Cottage has grown, developed, and been upgraded under the ownership of Glyn & Jacqueline Roberts. Due to the recession, we have not increased our prices for the past six years. We will now offer a two course option at £35pp as well as a three course for £40pp. This will include canapés served in the bar, our homemade bread with a choice of six starters, six mains, and six puddings. Also, we offer a five course tasting menu, at £45pp including canapés in the bar, bread, appetiser, starter, main, pudding and cheese. As this is a tasting menu, all portions of the seasonal produce chosen by Glyn will be smaller, and must be taken by the entire table, alterations are not available.

We can cater for special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance for any special requests - particularly if you have any allergies/vegetarian/vegan requests. If you have any life threatening food allergies, you must let us know on the point of booking, preferably in writing so we can respond by email to confirm your condition. Smaller portions are available for certain dishes for (well behaved) children and we can feed residents children in the lounge @ 5.30 / 6pm so parents can enjoy a meal on their own if they wish. Our dinner is served between 7 and 9pm.

Aperitifs are served in the bar / lounge from our well stocked bar and we are confident that we can provide you with an excellent bottle of wine to compliment your meal. We have an extensive wine list - over 90 wines and champagnes (supplied by Bibendum, Ffarm Vintners and Tanners) at modest prices. South Africa has a strong presence on our list and we probably have the best selection of New World Sauvignon Blanc in north Wales as well as some superb half bottles, magnums and pudding wines. We also have an extensive selection of Armagnac, brandies & liqueurs - Click here to view a sample Wine List.
